This is a topic which we will insha Allah explore in multiple posts. To get you started though, I’d like to bring to your attention two ahadith that are found in the Sunan of Abu Dawud. Both of these ahadith point to the necessity of making an effort to beautify your voice while reciting the Quran.
((عن البراء بن عازب قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((زينوا القرآن بأصواتكم
Narrated al-Baraa’ bin ‘Azib: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ((Beautify the Quran with your voices)).
((عن سعد بن أبي وقاص قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((ليس منا من لم يتغن بالقرآن
Narrated Sa’d bin abi Waqas: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ((He who does not chant the Quran melodiously/beautifully is not from us)).
